Easiest to Use Swing Plane Training Aid

Eyeline Speed Trap 2.0

Review

The Eyeline Speed Trap 2.0 is a very simple trainer to use. There are 4 thick rods that connect to a base via Velcro, angled towards you. With the rods in place, you practice your swing and if you hit the rods, you are off plane in your swing.

Having all 4 rods attached is the most difficult, and something you will work towards. If you tend to slice the ball, this is indicative of an out to in swing line. To fix this with the Eyeline Speed Trap 2.0, you would attach the back-right rod and the front left rod. This will force you out of the out to in tendency on your swing.

If you tend to hook the ball, you probably have an issue with swinging more inside to outside. To fix this issue, you'd attach the front-right rod and the back-left rod. This will force you off the in to out line your club head is taking.

After using this tool regularly for a few weeks, you will likely have overcome your slice or hook tendency. You're ready to attach all 4 rods now and improve the line and arc of your swing even more. Keep practicing regularly with the Speed Trap 2.0 for another month or two. After a couple of months, you'll be able to cut down to practicing with it a couple of times a month.

The Eyeline Speed Trap 2.0 is a favorite amongst our staff and students for a few reasons. First, as we stated earlier, is how simple it is to use. It's also easy to understand how and why it works. It is very portable and can be used at home indoors, outdoors, or at the range. And finally, we love it because it really works.

Pros

  • Simple to use
  • Portable and can be used anywhere
  • Very effective

Cons

  • Limited application; only helps improve your plane

The Golf Swing Plane Perfector utilizes alignment sticks that can be used dozens of ways to improve your swing. There is a solid aluminum base that the alignment sticks attach to. The alignment stick can then be set to any angle, as precisely as you want. Different drills will require different angles.

The alignment sticks that come with the Perfector are great quality. Many alignment sticks will sag if held upright or at an angle. These sticks stay straight, regardless of the angle they are on.
