Impact Snap Review

In our opinion, the true value of a golf training aid is that it can teach you feel. Coaches and instructors try so hard to teach feel, but words and demonstrations are still just audible and visual clues. They can't help you feel something in your golf swing.

The Impact Snap is a training aid designed to help you feel correct impact position.

The Impact Snap is one of the most popular golf swing trainers on the market. Its purpose is to get you into correct impact position. In other words, it teaches you to push your hands in front of the golf ball at impact. This results in better contact, better compression on the ball, greater feel, and increased distance.

Feedback

This training tool provides feedback via two methods. First, it produces an audible snap. Second, there is a yellow ball that rests against the trailing (dominant) arm at impact when done correctly.

You combine both feedback methods to know if you achieved correct impact position. You were successful if the snap occurs simultaneously with the yellow ball resting against the dominant arm. If you hear the snap and the yellow ball is not contacting your forearm, you've done it incorrectly.

For many players, proper impact position will feel awkward at first. It will take some practice and mental fortitude to get your brain to buy into the fact that this new awkward feeling is the way it is supposed to feel.

Portability

Because the Impact Snap is so compact, you can take it with you anywhere to practice. You can take it on business trips, vacation, to the office, or maybe just to your bedroom to practice. And of course, you don't need any golf balls to hit. This convenience makes it easy to practice whenever you may have some extra time on your hands.

Testing the Impact Snap Swing Trainer

We tested the Impact Snap with many of our team members. We've also tested it with many students. Among the intermediate to advanced golfers, feedback was unanimously positive. It really helped develop the feel for proper positioning at impact. And they could take that feel and transition to their clubs with it.

However, the feedback from the more beginner players was generally negative. It wasn't that they disliked the tool or couldn't figure out how to use it properly. Many were able to generate the snap while the yellow ball was contacting their arm. The frustration came when they tried to transition to their regular clubs. Their regular swing just wasn't solid enough to try to add more advanced (and complicated) techniques to it, and they were simply unable to re-create the feel they got from the tool. The result was a whole bunch of mishits and holes in the ground.

Impact Snap Golf Swing Aid Final Verdict

So, the obvious question is does it work? The short answer is absolutely. Unless, your skills are beginner to beginner-intermediate level. We would not recommend that you use this tool for a while. We would recommend the Orange Whip to start with for you. If you are an intermediate to advanced player, the Impact Snap will help improve your swing. You will learn to improve your impact position. And the result for many of you will be better striking than you've ever experienced before.
