First Target Priority Mode

First Target Priority automatically displays the range to the first/nearest target among the multiple measurements obtained. Without the wait for a secondary indicator, such as a vibration or LED, this assures that the measurement shown is the pin and not any objects in the background.

8-Second Continuous Measurement

No longer do you need to "pump" the button. For 8-second continuous measurement, press and hold down the Power button to activate the continuous measurement function. The rangefinder will continuously measure the range for approximately eight seconds. This is useful when trying to find measurements of multiple or very small or thin objects, allowing you to know the distance to hazards, pins, mounds, and trees in one push-and-hold of the button. With this feature, you have the ability to scan across the green to easily pick out a flagstick from the background.

The Laser Rangefinder has a measurement accuracy of +/-1 yard/meter out to 100 yards/meters and +/-2 yards/meters beyond that, and it displays distance in yards or meters on a high-visibility display. Diopter adjustment makes it easy to lock the display into focus. The 6x magnification is suitable for identifying targets at mid-range distances, and a long eye relief helps eyeglass wearers use it comfortably. This range finder is their smallest unit. I had the old 20i unit for 5 years and was pleased, that is why I purchased the new unit.
I have concerns about this unit.
1. It doesn’t lock onto the primary target right away. I sometimes have to shot the target 2 or 3 times. When it does lock on it is very accurate.
2. The numbers when you lock on should be darker, I haven’t found a way to make them darker so you can pick up your distance quickly.

This unit has slope tech and seems to be very accurate.
Would I purchase this unit again? Probably, but two weeks after purchasing the 20i Gll the 40i unit became available for the same sale price.

I would like to rate this rangefinder higher based on the quality and design. However, the one major drawback for me is that the user must have an extremely steady hand for an accurate reading. The least bit unsteady and the reading is off, requiring multiple scans each time. Annoying. At this price it should have logic built in to account for same unsteadiness.
